I really loved Jane Eyre. And after you have to read Fforde's Eyre Affaire, or did you already read it? :D

I started Jane Eyre in England, but never finished, so after your recommendation, I'll definitely give it another go soon. And I never heard of Eyre Affaire, but I think I'll look into it. On a similar matter, I love people who take up stories from novels again and make something new of it (a bit like fan fiction, just much more successful); that's also why I want to read Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys, which also takes up Jane Eyre.

fforde does that all the time in his thursday next series - it's all about a near future where literature rules the world, and an arch villain found a way to manipulate works of literature, thus terrorizing the world, hehe. It might sound silly the way I try to briefly explain it, but it's actually brilliant.

I think I even know that series you mentioned - If I remember correctly, I took out one of them from the library some years ago. I didn't finish it though, maybe because I didn't really understand the plot - but that may as well be due to it being a) an audiobook (I tend to miss things on them anyway) b) a translation and c) an abridged version. Maybe try The Real Thing next time ^^
